Cambus designs, tests, and manufactures custom medical cable assemblies for OEM medical devices. As a medical cable assembly manufacturer, Cambus works with customers on assemblies that must fit a specific device interface, transmit signals or power, and perform under the conditions of their intended application.

The product examples above include ECG patient cables, ECG cable assemblies, SpO2 adapter cables, patient cables for cardiac monitoring, temperature-control applications, and wire harnesses. For projects where the cable and connector must work together, Cambus can support cable assembly and medical connector requirements.

Custom Medical Cable Assemblies for Device-Specific Applications

Medical cable assemblies play an important role in connecting components within patient monitoring, electrocardiogram, cardiac monitoring, temperature-control, diagnostic, and imaging equipment. The intended application affects the assembly requirements, including the device interface, cable construction, connector configuration, and signals carried between components.

Cambus develops customer-specific medical cable assemblies for these applications. For more information about medical equipment connectors and cable assemblies, including diagnostic and imaging equipment applications, visit our Applications page.

Cable Specifications, Manufacturing, and Inspection Support

The performance of a medical cable assembly depends on more than the connector. Wire gauge, insulation material, connector material, and construction design should match the signals carried by the assembly, the device interface, and the conditions in which the cable will be used. Medical equipment cables may be exposed to repeated connection and disconnection, pulling, stretching, abrasion, vibration, and other application-specific conditions; Cambus evaluates these requirements when developing customer-specific cable assemblies.

Cambus provides OEM/ODM engineering and manufacturing support for cable assemblies, connectors, wire harnesses, and related medical device components. Its facilities include cable testing, 2.5D measurement, 3D scan measurement, CMM inspection, and automatic tension inspection equipment, while the applicable inspection approach is discussed according to the component and application requirements. Cambus holds ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 13485:2016 certification.
